DECEMBER ACTIVITIES AT CUMC
Christmas Decorating (Sunday, December 1st)
Help us transform our sanctuary and Howard Hall into places of wonder as we prepare our church for Advent and Christmas. Decorating is a joyful way to begin the season, reminding us that Christ is making all things beautiful.
Socks Tree Decorating (December 8-21)
Bring warm socks to decorate our “Socks Tree”! These will be donated to those in need, spreading warmth and love during the cold winter months.
Giving Tree (December 8-21)
Our Giving Tree is an opportunity to provide Christmas gifts for a family in need. Each ornament represents a child or family who could use a blessing this season. Your generosity reflects the heart of God, who gave us the greatest gift in Jesus Christ.
Caroling (Sunday, December 8th)
After coffee hour, we’ll sing carols at The Bristal Assisted Living in Massapequa and visit a few of our beloved shut-ins. Caroling is a beautiful way to embody the joy of the angels’ announcement: “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!” (Luke 2:14).
(Saturday, December 14th, 12 – 2 PM)
Come by to enjoy a delicious variety of homemade cookies! Whether you bake or buy, the proceeds will support the ministries of the church. It’s a tasty way to celebrate the sweetness of the season.
Advent Craft Workshop & Potluck
(Sunday, December 15th)
After worship, join us for our Advent Craft Workshop and Potluck lunch. This is a wonderful opportunity to bring the family together, make keepsakes, and share in the fellowship of God’s people.
(Saturday, December 21st at 3 PM)
The holidays can be a challenging time for those carrying grief or loss. This special service offers a sacred space for quiet reflection, prayer, and hope. Together, we will light candles, share moments of remembrance, and find comfort in the healing presence of Christ, the Light in our darkness.
Christmas Pageant
(Sunday, December 22nd at 10 AM)
Our children and youth along with our choir will present the Christmas story. Let’s gather to hear once again how God’s plan unfolded in a manger in Bethlehem.
(Tuesday, December 24th at 5 PM)
Join us for a candlelight service as we celebrate the birth of our Savior. This sacred time of worship allows us to reflect on the beauty of God’s love and the miracle of His coming into the world.
